What To Expect
We get together at 10:30am on Sunday for worship. The service is about an hour and fifteen minutes. For the first half, all ages stay in together for a classic rock flavored time of praise—we sing about who God is and what He has done. At the halfway point the YoungOnes are dismissed to age appropriate teaching while the rest of us gather around God's Word. This is a modern worship service but expect there to be many ancient elements—the experience will be clearly focused on revealing how Jesus both challenges us and comforts us with His promises. After the service, we hang out for a couple hours eating and drinking with our friends. Bring whatever you want to enjoy—fun for all ages—there's a big play area for the kids.
We also have Sunday School at 9:15am for adults and youth, with child care provided.
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” Zechariah 4:10
Worship God—Excellence in Worship: We glorify God in such a way that all people can understand who Jesus is—the hope and life that is only found in Him, and that He is the only way to the Father. The worship experience is accessible to the uninitiated, but also invites people to transcend their current understanding. Every effort is made to reduce the “awkwardness” that may make a guest or unbeliever feel they do not belong here. Come and see!
Love People—Making Disciples: We believe our lives must be dedicated to both transformation (becoming more like Jesus) and sharing God's love and grace with others. We exist for both the people who call NewChurch home and the people who have not joined us yet. The Holy Bible is taught in all of its depth and richness, pointing to the true Word revealed in Jesus Christ. Join us!
Things to believe:
GRACE ALONE. FAITH ALONE. GOD'S WORD ALONE.
We are Christian. There is a lot of negative baggage with that word these days. Followers of Jesus are known more for what we are against than what we are for, we are known more for what we hate than for loving people. NewChurch would like to change that.
We believe that men, women, and children are rescued from the effects of sin only by the underserved mercy of God; and that through faith—a relationship of dependence upon Jesus that God Himself gives us—forgiveness and new life becomes ours. We believe God's Word stands over us as ultimate. In it He gives us the rule and norm for all belief and through it makes us aware of sin, fills us with faith in Jesus, and guides us in faith-filled living.
Things to CONFESS:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell.
On the third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Christian Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
The words of the Apostles' Creed, along with the Nicene and Athanasian Creed, have served as a summary of Spirit-filled and scriptural belief since the earliest days of Christianity. They summarize what Christians have always confessed when gathered around God's Word in the name of God's Son—and they are the truths that we believe, teach, and confess at NewChurch.
We are associated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). Frank Hart is a Vicar and church planter from Oikos Church in Houston under Pastor Aaron Lytle. To be Lutheran simply means that we accept the scriptural truths that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century and led to a renewed focus on the Gospel.
As a result we uphold an extravagant and mysterious view of God's love: that man is saved purely by God's grace through faith alone, apart from works. We believe that God is so loving and powerful that He is actively working through His Word as well as saving and sustaining sinful men, women and children through His mysterious gifts of baptism and the Lord's Supper.

We believe age appropriate teaching is very important. We also believe that our children need to learn how to be part of the church, which is why everyone stays together for the first half of the service. It's also why our older kids stay with the adults for the message.
Babies - Stay with parents (Cry room in back if needed)
1 to 3 year olds - Childcare available.
4 yrs to 5th Grade - Classes during message time.
6th Grade and up - Stays with adults for message.
